MONTVILLE -- Police say a man talked his way into Aldi at closing time Sunday night, then forced the clerk to open the cash register and then took $1,100 and ran out the door.

Sunday night, Montville Police were called to the Aldi Supermarket at 3444 Medina Road. Arriving officers learned that a white man approached the store's entrance at 7:02 p.m., just as the shift manager was locking the door.

The man was allowed to enter the store where he walked quickly down the first aisle, then ran down the second aisle with his hand under his shirt.

Police and employees do not know if he was concealing a weapon.

He approached the manager, who was putting items away, pushed her towards the registers in the front of the store, and said "open it."

The manager complied and, once the register was opened, the man removed $1,100 cash and then left the store through the front doors.

The man was last seen running west towards First Merit Bank.

The man is described as white, in his 40's,  wearing a long sleeved blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and a dark blue baseball cap with a yellow or orange emblem on the front.

Police say his skin was flushed and it was full of "pock marks" from acne or the chicken pox.

Anyone with information in the identification or possible identification of the suspect is asked to call the Montville Police tip line at 330-661-0120.
