PARMA, Ohio -- Toys-R-Us stores opened across the country at 8 p.m. Thursday.

At the Parma location, customers began showing up at 3:30 p.m. just to get some of the deals.

Eventually, and even after doors opened, the line stretched around the side of the building. Casandra Rodgers was one of the first in line.

"We're looking to get Skylanders," said Rodgers.

But not everyone was looking to spend money. A couple of guys were capitalizing on the crazy atmosphere of "Black Friday" by selling shirts that read "I survived Black Friday 2012."

People bought the tees as they did other products in the store once they finally got in.

Highly sought-after items didn't stay stocked for long.

Angel Samano's face said it all, as he shopped alone. He admits it was a little stressful.

"You gotta get it while it's still here. Otherwise it's off the shelves and you can't get that deal," said Samano.

Luckily, patience was rewarded with the products they wanted for those who got there early. A lot of people checked out with a lot of checks on their list.
