NELSON TOWNSHIP -- Portage County Sheriff David W. Doak said his office has arrested David A. Warner, 29, of Nelson Township, in connection with a home invasion on Tuesday.

Warner was charged with one count of aggravated robbery, a felony, and is being held at the Portage Jail without bond.

Warner will appear at 1:15 p.m. Friday in the Ravenna Courthouse.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of a home invasion that had just occurred in the 11200 block of State Route 88 in Nelson Township, the home of an 87-year-old woman.

Aman came to her door and when she opened it, he knocked her to the floor, causing her to break her hip.

He took an unknown amount of money from her purse and left.

Doak says that, during the course of the investigation, David Warner was identified as a person of interest.

Portage County Detectives obtained an arrest warrant subsequent to a probable cause hearing, and David Warner was taken into custody without incident.
