ROME, Italy - A bridge in central Rome was closed Wednesday as water levels on the tiber river rose to almost record levels.

High waters flooded several roads across the italian capital.

Despite massive flooding across the nation, Rome is expected to only experience minor street flooding.

Elsewhere in Italy several people have died after heavy flooding swept through the center of the country.

The city of Venice saw the highest water levels since records began some 150 years ago.
