RAVENNA -- After he was found nearly starved to death earlier this month, Eeyore is said to be "more energetic."
Officials with the Portage County Animal Protective League say Eeyore, a boxer/mastiff mix, is eating 3+ meals per day, totaling about 7+ cups of food.
They say he is making "steady progress" and becoming more aware of his surroundings.
When he was rescued on Nov. 6, Eeyore weighed 45 pounds, which is about half the size of a typical animal of his breed.
He also wasn't able to stand on his own when he was found.
Rescuers say Eeyore had been eating rocks and mulch to survive.
Within a few days under the APL's care, Eeyore quickly gained eight pounds. He has been treated with IV fluids and antibiotics.
