KIRTLAND -- President Barack Obama's acceptance speech is hitting close to home for a family from Kirtland.

Last weekend, they met President Obama during his campaign stop and their daughter became the focus of his acceptance speech Tuesday night.

Channel 3's John Anderson has more on this little girl and her fight that got the President's attention.

The girl is Erin Potter and seeing the speech was quite emotional for her and her family.

You could never tell by a video of Erin singing to a broomstick that she has battled cancer three times and has undergone two bone marrow traansplants.

Erin and her family met the President Saturday at a campaign stop in Mentor and it obviously had a lasting impression on the President.

There was a time when her father Kevin thought their health insurance would stop. But that was before, Kevin says.

He doesn't know where his family would be if the President's healthcare plan -- or his re-election bid -- would have lost.

As Erin recovers at home from her latest trip to University Hospital's Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, she knows the President is pulling for her too.

Doctors said Erin just had her 100-day check-up after her bone marrow transplant and everything looks good.

Also, Erin just met Justin Bieber a few weeks ago and she ranks this meeting right up there with meeting the President.
