Romney leading Obama by 51-48 percent in popular vote

At this hour, Romney is leading Obama in the race for the presidency by a 51 percent to 48 percent margin in the popular vote nationwide.

Independent and other party candidates are getting 1 percent of the vote nationwide. That's with 8 percent of the precincts reporting. Obama has won 67 electoral votes in 9 states and the District of Columbia.

He is leading in 6 states for a total of 101 more electoral votes. Romney has won 76 electoral votes in 8 states. He is leading in 8 states for a total of 97 more electoral votes. Independent and other party candidates has not won any state and currently not leading in any state.

In the 435 U.S. House races, the Republicans have won 65 seats and are leading in the races for 74 seats. The Democrats have won 38 seats and are leading in the races for 60 seats. Independent and other party candidates have won or are leading for 0 seats.

In the 33 U.S. Senate races, the Republicans have won 1 seat and are leading in the races for 5 seats. The Democrats have won 6 seats and are leading in the races for 6 seats. Independent and other party candidates have won or are leading for 2 seats.
