AKRON -- Police removed a two-year-old child from a suspected meth house.
Around 3 p.m. Monday, police were called to the 700 block of Eastland Avenue to check on the welfare of a toddler.
A woman answered the door when police knocked.
Officers could smell a strong chemical odor coming from inside the house.
Officers were given consent to check the house.
They found a working meth lab in the basement, including lab bottles, acid gas generators, ammonium nitrates fuel bottles and digital scales.
Melissa Brown, 22, of Eastland Avenue was arrested and charged with illegal manufacturing of methamphetamines, illegal assembly of chemicals, endangering children and possession of criminal tools.
She was booked into the Summit County Jail.
The child was placed into the custody of Summit County Children's Services and taken to the hospital to be checked.
