CHARDON -- Suspected Chardon High shooter T.J. Lane is granted more time to determine whether he'll change his plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.

Geauga County Common Pleas Judge David Fuhry gave Lane an extension Monday morning at a pretrial hearing in court.

Lane's defense attorney Mark Devan says Lane will be examined by a neuropsychiatrist and also have an MRI. Devan says the teenage defendant suffers from migraine headaches and auditor and visual hallucinations.

The court has given Lane until October 1 to change his plea to insanity.

The suggested trial date is November 12.

Lane has already admitted to the February 27 shooting where three students died and three were wounded.

Killed were 17-year-old Russell King, Jr., 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor and 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin.

Nick Walczak, 17, remains paralyzed from the waist down. 18-year-old Joy Rickers and another unidentified victim were treated and released from the hospital.
