Las Vegas, NV -- Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving suffered a right hand fracture during Saturday morning's practice.

Irving slapped the padding on the wall at the practice site and x-rays taken at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas confirmed the fracture.

He will return to Cleveland and be evaluated by head team physician Dr. Richard Parker and Dr. Thomas Graham on Sunday.

The 20-year-old Duke product averaged 18.5 points and 5.4 assists over 51 games during his rookie campaign with the Cavaliers en route to earning NBA Rookie of the Year honors.

His preliminary projection is to be ready for the start of training camp in late September.
