CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland Gladiators players have gone on strike Friday ahead of a scheduled Arena Football League night game against Pittsburgh.

The dispute is over better working conditions and the lack of substantive collective bargaining. AFL Players Union executive director Ivan Soto says the work stoppage would last until midnight.

AFL Commissioner Jerry Kurz announced that the NFL Network broadcast of the game was canceled because of "labor uncertainty."

Some replacement players were used in the season opener between Pittsburgh and Orlando after a job action by players from both teams.

The Gladiators are owned by Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert.
