CHARDON -- A judge set bond at $1 million for T.J. Lane, the teenager accused in the Chardon High School shootings.
Friday, Lane made his first appearance in adult court in Geauga County.
Lane told the judge he understood the charges against him and entered a plea of not guilty on all six counts.
His lawyer asked for and was granted 30 days during which the plea may be amended to not guilty by reason of insanity.
Earlier this week a grand jury indicted Lane, 17, on charges of aggravated murder and felonious assault in the Feb. 27 shootings that left three students dead and two seriously injured. Another student was grazed by a bullet.
The judge ordered Lane returned to the Portage-Geauga Juvenile Detention Center until June 18 at which point he will be taken to the Geauga County Jail.
A hearing last month determined that the case would be moved from juvenile court to adult court.
