Executive Caterers of Landerhaven CEO Harlan Diamond, 78, of Bratenahl, was sentenced to one year's probation Monday in the Cuyahoga County corruption probe.

Diamond was charged on March 7, 2011, and pleaded guilty in April, 2011, before U.S. District Judge John Adams. Adams sentenced him on Monday.

Diamond had faced up to six months in prison but his attorney Robert Glickman had him sign an 18-page plea agreement with prosecutors which helped him avoid any prison time.

Part of the plea agreement was that Diamond testify against former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora at his trial. Diamond did so earlier this year.

His plea agreement stated that he worked with Dimora years earlier to use Dimora's campaign funds to pay off the Executive Caterers bill that Dimora had rung up for his wife Lori's 50th birthday party there in July 2006. Diamond also forgave about $24,000 in other bills Dimora owed because Dimora wouldn't pay them.

Executive Caterers is located in Mayfield Heights.
