CLEVELAND -- Police have arrested a man in connection with the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl earlier this week.
Police say the suspect was arrested on Silk Avenue today around 3 p.m. His name has not been released.
The alleged incident happened just after 7:30 a.m. on May 30. Police say the suspect followed the girl as she left an RTA train and walked south on West 154th Street near Puritas Avenue.
The girl had told police the man grabbed her left arm but she was able to pull free. She reportedly started to run when the man grabbed her arm again, pushed her up against a fence and tried to push her into a shrub.
Police say the man let the girl go and fled after a passerby yelled at him.
Cleveland Police released a still image Thursday from surveillance video of the suspect.
