MENTOR -- The search for a man in the Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve ended Tuesday night after he was found safely.
Raymond R. Gabor, 45, appeared in good health when he was found and was taken to Lake West Hospital for evaluation, Mentor Police said.
Mentor's police chief said the city had closed the Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve and Dock A at the marina while police conducted a search for Gabor.
According to police, Gabor left work abruptly on Monday afternoon. Police say there was concern for the man's welfare.
Gabor's truck was found at a trail area at the Lagoons and he was last seen just before 8 p.m. near the beach.
A Mentor Lagoons Courtesy Patrol spotted a man running through the woods and alerted police Tuesday. Police located Gabor at about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday.
The situation remains under investigation.
Mentor Police was assisted throughout the search process by the United States Coast Guard, Mentor Fire Department, Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the employees of Mentor Lagoons.
