NORTH CANTON -- Police say a woman voluntarily surrendered Friday morning in connection with an abduction that police now say was a false report.
The woman told police on April 30 that she had been forced into her car by two men at a local restaurant. The victim told officers she managed to escape a short time later and return home. She was treated for a minor cut on her face.
Police say their investigation revealed inconsistencies in the facts and investigators determined the incident didn't happen.
The woman is charged with filing a false police report.
