CHARDON -- M.C. Mobility has announced a contest for local heroes that will award a 2012 custom Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Town & Country or Honda Odyssey Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle to a worthy individual.
At least three vehicles will be given away. The Local Heroes contest is part of the National Mobility Awareness Month. The local hero that has been nominated is Nick Walczak.
Nick sustained a spinal cord injury from the Chardon High School shooting in February that has left him paralyzed. He is currently undergoing intensive physical therapy at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Nick's spirit and determination have made him a hero to the Chardon community. Winning this van will not only be a victory for Nick and his family, but a step in the healing process for Chardon and all those who have felt the pain of the school shooting.
