CHARDON -- A competency hearing has been scheduled for the teenager charged in connection with the Feb. 27 shootings at Chardon High School.
T.J. Lane had been scheduled for a hearing on April 3 to determine if the 17-year-old should be tried as an adult in the shootings that left three students dead and two others seriously injured.

Judge Timothy Grendell will set the hearing dates in the case at a procedural hearing set for April 9.
Lane is currently charged as a juvenile in the shootings on three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault.
Daniel Parmertor, 16, Demetrius Hewlin, 16, and Russell King Jr., 17, died in the shootings. Nick Walczak, 17, remains hospitalized, Joy Rickers, 18, was released from the hospital.
