MOGADORE -- A small fine arts school in Portage County is one of 20 nationwide to receive help from the new NBC show "Smash."
Falcon Academy of Creative Arts has had a rough year, but it is looking up.
The school was chosen to receive help from New York City Broadway theater teachers and some funding for their spring musical.
Earlier this year, they lost $250,000 in funding, so it has been hard to make ends meet.
WKYC Education Reporter Kim Wheeler visited the school to see what it takes to be a "Smash" school.
The school will have an open house for interested students on Feb. 21 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Call (330) 673-4514 for more information.
