CLEVELAND -- Cleveland City Councilman Zack Reed is calling on council to pull the permit for this year's Komen Race for the Cure in Cleveland.
Channel 3 is a media partner of the event.
Councilman Reed is asking Mayor Jackson's administration to refuse to issue the permit. He says he is requesting the cancellation because the foundation recently decided to stop funding Planned Parenthood.
"If they're going to play politics, we're going to play politics," said Reed.
Reed says he plans to officially introduce the measure at Monday's city council meeting. A final decision on the permit will be up to Mayor Jackson.
