He will stop being paid in his $120,000-a-year job as of this Friday.
Coroner's Spokesman Powell Caesar said Coyne was being fired in a reorganization and his job is being eliminated.
Coyne was fired about two weeks ago, then rehired.
Coyne has been on leave since he was implicated in the federal corruption probe of Cuyahoga County and other local governments.
Hinckley developer David Terry admitted giving Coyne a $20,000 bribe.
Coyne has not been charged.
He formerly was a top aide to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason and has been on Strongsville City Council for 20 years.
