EAST CLEVELAND -- The 88th annual Nela Park Holiday Lighting Display burst into light at 6 p.m. Friday night.
The holiday lights at GE Lighting's Nela Park headquarters have been a Northeast Ohio holiday staple for more than 80 years. This year, music and energy efficiency take center stage.

The lighting displays will "play" with music airing live on 107.1 FM. GE design consultants have been working on the concept since March.
The holiday lighting ceremony had GE Lighting's President/CEO Maryrose Sylvester flipping the switch to illuminate half-a-million LED lights.
This year Maryrose was joined by Julian Wolke, 5, and Christian Wolke, 9, the children of GE Lighting employee Dan Wolke.
They were selected out of more than 100 entries to be a part of this special holiday tradition.
Musical score and notes, made out of LEDs, "play" in synchronization with the music of a classic holiday song.
There will be several scenes depicting holiday songs stretching along Noble Road.
