Consumer Minute: Best days to book Thanksgiving flights

A sure sign of economic improvement is construction. And homeowners in Northeast Ohio are getting back to building their dream homes. New home sales are up 33 percent since last year. And when it comes to construction, Payne and Payne Builders say they're on track to have their best year yet. Even when new home construction dipped nationwide in August, numbers still remained at a two-year high.

The Food and Drug Administration is warning all of us about fake online pharmacies. A survey done by the FDA shows a quarter of the people who make online purchases have also ordered prescription drugs on the internet. Only a few of those online pharmacies meet federal guidelines. Federal regulators are warning us all to buy pharmaceuticals online only if the website requires a valid doctors prescription.

You might not be thinking Thanksgiving, but if you have travel plans for the holiday, now is the time to book. The website www.FareCompare.com projects airfares could be slightly higher for the week over last year. Make sure you choose the right days to fly to save money. The Monday before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day are the cheapest days to fly.
