It's a vacuuming robot that its maker claims will do the vacuuming for you.

The Roomba is a rechargeable self-propelled vacuum cleaner that works on its own. You simply turn it on and put it down. It works on carpets, rugs, tile, linoleum and hardwood too.

Mom "Janice" agreed to give it a try. "See, it just detected a little extra dirt there. That's why the blue light went on", Janice said.

The Roomba starts off in a circle eventually making its way around the room going around furniture, stairs, walls and other obstacles. It comes with two virtual walls, which you can put in front of wires, or any area you want it to avoid.

"You don't think it's going to do the whole room, but it does. I don't know how. You walk away and you come back and it's done", observed Janice. She also said, "it is easy to clean".

Janice showed us how it works. She put some dirt on the floor and the Roomba picked it right up. The Roomba isn't a quick fix to vacuuming. It does take a while, but Janice said in her house, it gets the job done.

Out of five stars, the Roomba gets a 5!

The Roomba can be found at stores like Bed Bath and Beyond. Online too.

There are several different models ranging in price from $129 to $350.

We tested the Roomba Discovery.
