Kent State University hasn't been known as a football powerhouse. But things are changing.
The Golden Flashes are currently 17th in the BCS rankings. They play in the MAC Championship game this Friday.
Channel 3's John Anderson spent the day on campus and says students are dreaming big.
On a night like this, who wouldn't want to go to Miami?
The buzz around Kent State is the Mac title game Friday night in Detroit and beyond. Inside the Kent State bookstore, the Flashes' t-shirts for making it to the MAC championship game are on their second order.
The phones are ringing for tickets and the sports department even got a call from the Orange Bowl.
But before Kent State makes it to Miami, they need to win Friday night, and have one or two teams in the BCS standings lose.
But it's still fun to dream about a trip to South Beach.
What does it all mean? The publicity Kent State got for going was worth $3 million. A BCS bowl would mean that and more.
