James Wagner of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, was dressed as a lion, trying to lure passing motorists into stopping at a cell phone store in Solon.
A law enforcement task force in Pennsylvania got a tip that Wagner, 39, was the same man wanted on charges of impregnating his underage step daughter more than two years ago.
Pennsylvania authorities contacted the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVTF), organized by the United States Marshal in Cleveland, Peter J. Elliott.
Members of the two task forces drove together to the store in Solon, and when Wagner waved them to stop into the store, he was confronted with the warrant.
Deputy Marshals say Wagner, 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, in his lion costume, tried to run, but after a brief struggle was subdued and placed under arrest.
