Maple Heights auxiliary officer struck by vehicle while directing traffic

MAPLE HEIGHTS -- A Maple Heights auxiliary police officer was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic early Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the officer was struck at 7:43 a.m. on Lee Road near Broadway Avenue.

The officer was taken to the hospital for undisclosed injuries.

The driver was detained for further investigation.
