CLEVELAND -- A 29-year-old man died Saturday following a police pursuit the night before.

According to police, Reginald Williams was being pursued by the department's Vice Unit in regards to a kidnapping investigation.

Williams ran from police in the area of East 76th Street and Harvard Avenue around 11:30 p.m Friday. Police were able to catch him when he was entangled on a barbed wire fence.

When police arrested him, Williams said he was out of breath and unable to stand up.

EMS was called to the scene and took Williams to Marymount Hospital for treatment. Williams died Saturday morning around 8:00 a.m.

Williams' family members are in shock. After speaking to witnesses, they believe police aren't giving them the entire story. They plan to hold a vigil for Williams on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner is investigating Williams' death.

Police say there was no reported use of force by officers.
