CLEVELAND -- The Senior Games will soon come to a close here in Cleveland, but not all the games are something you see every day.

The Senior Games has a new event this year: Pickleball.

Pickleball is like playing ping pong on the floor, but you have to move a little more. The court size is 20 feet by 44 feet.

It's like tennis, but you serve underhand.

It's like badminton, but the net is a lot lower.

Pickleball players from all over the country have come to Cleveland to play Pickleball in the Senior Games. Bob Schrag, The Northeast Ohio Pickleball Ambassador, says the Senior Games have had a great impact on perception of our city.

"I think it's been a great advertisement," Schrag says. "People don't know that much about Cleveland and they see a fairly modern city now with a lot of new attractions.  Good things to do. Very friendly people. A lot of good places to eat.  Great weather."

It's the fastest-growing sport in the country with more than 100,000 participants and more than 800 places across the U.S. to play.

Here in town, the Mentor Recreation Department has six outside courts. Pioneer Ridge in North Ridgeville has four outdoor courts. North Olmsted Rec Center has indoor courts and there's Kirtland Country Club and Westwood Country Club with courts as well.
